This is our monthly update about news and upcoming events at the Graduate School of East Asian Studies.

 

We are happy to announce a special issue of The Pacific Review on “Dimensions of Sino-Japanese Rivalry in a Global Context” by EVF fellow Kai Schulze and GEAS Director Verena Blechinger-Talcott. More information can be found at https://www.tandfonline.com/doi/full/10.1080/09512748.2019.1569116.

 

We would also like to draw your attention to a new book chapter publication by GEAS faculty member Cornelia Reiher on “Protect agriculture and food safety! Transnational protest movement(s) against preferential trade agreements in Asia“. In April, we welcome Je Sook Song (University of Toronto, Canada) as a visiting professor at GEAS from 16-17 April 2019. Song will hold a lecture on “Core Location as Method: Urban Development in the New Millennium”. Please find more information below.

 

We also welcome Cho-hsin Su (National Chengchi University, Taiwan) as a guest researcher in the Erasmus+ STA program from 17 to 27 April 2019. As part of the GEAS curriculum, Su will offer a research seminar on East Asian Relations. The course is open to MA and PhD students alike. Please find more information below.
