The GEAS is happy to welcome our new visiting fellow: Shinji Kojima (Ritsumeikan Asia Pacific University) will be staying with us from September 2019 to March 2020. He focuses on issues of social inequality and stratification, globalisation, the sociology of work and social movements. In particular, his research examines how globalization shapes inequality, with a particular focus on employment issues faced by non-regular workers in Japan and East Asia generally.

 

We also welcome back both Einstein Visiting Fellows Richard J. Samuels and  Einstein Visiting Fellow plus Gunter Schubert who will be staying in Berlin between 8^th and 15^th October 2019 to give a lecture and host the joint EVFplus Workshop.

Lastly, we are pleased to announce that the GEAS will be relocated this autumn: We will move together with the other graduate schools of the department into the adjacent building, the yellow, former “TOPOI” villa across the garden.
