Shinji Kojima (Ritsumeikan Asia Pacific University) will be staying with us from September 2019 to March 2020. He focuses on issues of social
inequality and stratification, globalisation, the sociology of work and social movements. In particular, his research examines how globalization shapes inequality, with a particular
focus on employment issues faced by non-regular workers in Japan and East Asia generally. We also welcome back
both Einstein Visiting Fellows Richard J. Samuels and
Einstein Visiting Fellow plus Gunter Schubert who will be staying in Berlin between 8th and 15th October 2019 to give a lecture and host the joint EVFplus Workshop. Please be so kind to spread the word that the
application period for the new GEAS PhD cohort starting in 2020 has begun. The application portal is open until 15th November. Please find more information at:
