Dear colleagues, doctoral candidates and friends,

please find below a number of GEAS related events taking place in December/January.

A) End of the Year Grad School Party

All graduate schools GEAS, BerGSAS and BGSMCS will celebrate the end of the year together again in the lecture hall and (winter) garden with glühwein and snacks. Bring your favourite drink, snacks, and a song! The party starts at 5 PM in our lecture hall!

B) Info Session Support Point 06.12.2022

In this info session, two colleagues from Psychological Counseling Service will present the new Support.Point project: their mission is to promote the mental health of students and employees. This is an initiative of ZE Student Counseling and Psychological Counseling in cooperation with the departments to establish a psychosocial support network on campus.The Support.Points are first points of contact on-site. All PhD researchers and colleagues are invited to join!

C) GEAS Homecoming Symposium 08.12.2022

Doctoral candidates of Cohort VIII (Cohort 2020)  will be back from their fieldwork in Asia and present their findings and new ideas at our Homecoming Symposium. The purpose of the symposium is to give our PhD students the chance to receive feedback on their progress from a variety of different researchers and peers before they start writing their dissertation.

D) Triple Alliance Young Scholars Workshop 2022 #4 09.12.2022

The Workshop is organized this year by University of Tübingen, and is a co-organized by Freie Universität Berlin and Peking University (Triple Alliance).

E) Save the Date: Winter School, in cooperation with NCCU Taipei  09.01.2023-13.01.2023

The faculty of International Doctoral Program in Asia Pacific Studies (IDAS), College of Social Sciences, National Cheng Chi University Taipei and members and associates of Graduate School of East Asian Studies (GEAS), Freie Unviersität Berlin, present insights on Greater China from different social, economic, cultural, legal, medical and digital perspectives.

The lectures of this year's Winter School on Greater China are open to the public. You can register as audience through our website. Our team will send you a link invitation in due time. This link is valid for all public lectures throughout the entire week.
