Liebe Kolleginnen und Kollegen,

wie mit der Publikation von Forschungsdaten
Geschäfte gemacht werden können, beschäftigt derzeit die Nature Publishing
Group (NPG).
Das geht aus dem Inhalt der zur Zeit
stattfindenden Umfrage hervor (s. Mail unten).

Aus den gestellten Fragen ist zu entnehmen,
dass die NPG Forschungsdaten Open Access im "Author pays" -Modell
vertreiben will.

Wie viele von Ihnen wahrscheinlich wissen,
hat die NPG in den letzten Jahren viele neue Abo-Fachzeitschriften zu verschiedenen,
oft eng abgegrenzten Fachgebieten
aufgelegt und konnte damit in sehr kurzer
Zeit hohe Impact-Faktoren erzielen. Die Abo-Preise dieser Fachserien "Nature
XYZ" liegen in der Regel höher als für "Nature" selbst.
Dieses Attraktionspotential will die
NPG wohl bald für Forschungsdaten wirksam werden lassen. 

Nehmen Sie an der Umfrage teil. Auch
wenn Sie als "Non-Scientist" teilnehmen, läßt sich aus den gestellten
Fragen doch eine Einschätzung zu den Absichten der NPG ableiten.
