*** Apologies for cross-posting! *** Dear Colleagues, The Max Planck Digital Library cordially invites you to participate in the Open Science Days in Berlin on February 17/18. Citizen Science is this year's focus topic: We will have exciting reports from researchers who try to advance their activities by including the help of non-researchers in their specific projects. Those activities include e.g. the collection of environmental data from the ocean via smartphone and sampling kit. Another project, which deals with the behavior of chimpanzees, features the evaluation of huge amounts of short films taken by camera traps in the jungle. Besides further topics we will also hear about experiences on collecting money for scientific projects through crowdfunding platforms. The keynote on Citizen Science will be held by Aletta Bonn while on the second day Ulrich Herb is going to take a close look on the current state of Open Science in general. For further details please visit: http://osd.mpdl.mpg.de/ If you had the time and inclination to join us, we would be pleased to welcome you in Berlin!
