Dear library colleagues across Europe,

 

Hello. I hope this week (and month) are going well for you. I am reaching out to invite you to take part in the survey I am conducting with librarians across Europe and which is part of my doctoral research. It is a multi-national study investigating the impact and sustainability of Open Access models for books (only books), particularly collaborative models. The survey only takes five minutes to complete, consists of 10 questions and any librarian affiliated with a European institution can participate. 

 

I would be enormously grateful if you could take this survey and/or forward it to your colleagues at your institution who may be interested/willing to participate. The survey (as well as the quantitative data already collected) spans some 30 countries to make sure the sample is as wide-ranging and diverse as possible.

More information about my doctoral research at the University of Zagreb and this survey is in the attached PDF, which I am sharing with all survey participants. More information about me and my vast experience in the field of library and information sciences is in the links below (including my CV).

 

The survey is completely anonymous and I will gladly share the results as soon as they are available with anyone who requests them. I hope this extensive study and its findings (which I have been working on the past two years and will publish later in the year) help our the book industry better understand the perceptions and challenges as they relate to collaborative Open Access book models and libraries' willingness to support them.
