Guten Tag, 

am 29.11.2023 findet von 10:00 - 12:00 Uhr die Informationsveranstaltung "Opening the Future und das Open Book Collective. Diamond Open Access für Bücher?" statt. Wie lassen sich Open-Access-Bücher zu fairen Preisen oder sogar BPC-frei realisieren? Dieser Frage geht die Copim Community seit 2020 nach. In deren Umfeld wurden zwei Modelle entwickelt: Opening the Future und das Open Book Collective. In der Veranstaltung wollen wir diese Initiativen vorstellen und ihr Potenzial aus der Sicht wissenschaftlicher Bibliotheken zusammen mit unseren Gästen Dr. Joe Deville (Lancaster University & Open Book Collective), Tom Grady (University of London & Opening the Future) und Dr. Andrea Hacker (Universität Basel & Open Book Collective) diskutieren.

Eingeladen sind alle, die sich für gebührenfreies Open Access interessieren. Die Veranstaltung findet auf Englisch satt. Dear all,

On 29.11.2023, from 10 a.m. - 12 p.m. CET, the information event "Opening the Future and the Open Book Collective. Diamond Open Access for Books?" will take place. How can open access books be realised at fair prices or even BPC-free? The Copim community has been investigating this question since 2020. Two models have developed in this context: Opening the Future and the Open Book Collective. In this event, we will present these initiatives and discuss their potential from the perspective of academic libraries together with our guests Dr. Joe Deville (Lancaster University & Open Book Collective), Tom Grady (University of London & Opening the Future) and Dr. Andrea Hacker (University of Basel & Open Book Collective).

Anyone interested in Open Access without charges is invited. The event will take place in English.
