The projects KOALA-AV and open-access.network jointly invite you to a workshop on Diamond Open Access and Journal Flipping.
The workshop will take place online via Zoom and in English.

What does the Diamond Open Access landscape look like in Europe?
What do journals seeking Diamond Open Access funding need to consider?
What types of funding are available beyond subscription and APC?

The event is primarily aimed at publishers of journals that are already open access or subscription-based and who are interested in flipping
to community-funded open access. We also invite people who already have experience in these areas and who would like to exchange ideas or learn
about other Diamond Open Access options for journals.

As part of the workshop, we want to take a look at the European Diamond Open Access landscape with the DIAMAS project and provide
a perspective on the infrastructural support services the project is planning for journals that want to work in a business model that is based
neither on subscriptions nor on author fees.
We will also use two consortium models, KOALA and OLEcon, to demonstrate collaborative financing options for journals and offer specific
flipping advice.
A testimonial from a recently flipped journal complements the exchange on infrastructure and financing.

• followed up by counselling and Q&A in Breakout Sessions
• Experience report by Martin Odening (GJAE)
