Dear colleagues, The 70th Helmholtz Open Science Online Seminar will take place on Wednesday, January 22, 2025 from 2 p.m. to 3 p.m. (CET). In his talk "Public Sector Open Source Program Offices - Archetypes for how to Grow (Common) Institutional Capabilities", Johan Linåker - researcher at RISE and Lund University in Sweden - will delve into the structural configurations and strategic utilization of Open Source Programme Offices (OSPOs) within the public sector domain, with a specific focus on OSPOs within European Union (EU) member states, Norway, Liechtenstein, and Iceland. Johan will provide insights into organizational structures, responsibilities, and contributions to the adoption of Open Source Software (OSS) as well as discuss challenges and provide recommendations for both policymakers and practitioners. The event will be conducted via Zoom and will be recorded (except the discussion slot). The event’s language is English. The public event is open to all interested parties from Helmholtz and beyond.
