[IP-OA_Forum] B17 conference report released: Insights and practical steps for moving OA forward

Earlier this year, the 17th Berlin Open Access Conference brought together delegations from around the world, and we're excited to share the comprehensive report capturing the collective insight and strategic direction that emerged from the conference discussions.

The B17 report offers the library community essential guidance and practical steps to drive meaningful transformation in scholarly communication based on the consensus priorities:

·         full transparency in publishing agreements

·         fairer pricing frameworks

·         support of diverse publishing models

·         utilizing CC BY licensing to preserve author rights and enable academic agency over scholarly outputs—particularly crucial as AI reshapes research communication

·         addressing the implications of current research assessment practices on the dynamics of the scholarly publishing ecosystem

·         the integration of open science principles into institutional strategies

The OA2020 Initiative will take these priorities forward, drawing on the strength of our global community and partnerships to drive a more transparent, equitable, and effective open access ecosystem.

We invite you to read, share, and apply the insights in this report. They reflect the collective capacity of the research and library community to lead change and will inform upcoming OA2020 actions that build on shared goals and collaboration.
