With apologies for cross-posting
We are excited to present ‘Copim Compass’, a rich collection of resources gathered and organised by Copim's Open Book Futures project, designed to equip publishers, libraries, authors, and policy makers with the essential information to successfully navigate OA book publishing. There are so many guides, toolkits, knowledge-bases and resources already available online that just knowing where to start can be bewildering. The Compass draws many of these into one place and organises them into helpful sections for you.
What is Copim Compass?
Copim Compass is a multifaceted resource designed primarily for book publishers who are publishing, or intend to publish, open access books. It draws into one place guidance for presses that are transitioning from closed to open, or for born-OA presses. However, we know that it will be useful to authors and libraries as well so users can also browse case studies and success stories from these different perspectives.
What is in Copim Compass?
Copim Compass is divided into different sections, which are (appropriately) known as Books. These are ordered numerically, and you can browse each Book via the homepage.
The first book gives a more detailed overview of Copim Compass.
The next set of books provide a broad overview of the current OA book landscape, featuring curated resources from across the world of OA books and success stories from authors, libraries, and presses.
The middle books delve into the Opening the Future revenue model, offering tools and insights from Copim's experiences in helping publishers make the shift from closed to open access.
The final books introduce each group from Copim's Open Book Futures project and explore best practices and tools to improve the accessibility, archiving, and preservation of open access books.
Keep in touch!
We would love to hear your feedback on the Copim Compass. Please send any comments directly to info@copim.ac.uk or use the Contact Details in the individual books. You can also leave comments directly on the text by marking up sections using hypothes.is.
Best wishes,
Sent on behalf of the Copim Compass Team
