Save the Date: Austausch und Vernetzung zu Open Access vom 29.-30. April am BIS-Bibliotheks- und Informationssystem der Carl von Ossietzky Universität Oldenburg

 

Liebe Kolleg*innen, liebe Open-Access-Interessierte,

 

Am 29.–30. April 2026 findet das nächste Open Access Barcamp am BIS der Carl von Ossietzky Universität Oldenburg statt.

Mit unseren Barcamps bringen wir Akteur*innen der Open-Access-Community zusammen, um sich auszutauschen, zu vernetzen und voneinander zu lernen. Das Barcamp-Format lebt von Offenheit und Beteiligung: Anstelle eines vorgegebenen Programms gestalten die Teilnehmenden die Inhalte selbst, schlagen Themen vor und führen Sessions durch. So entsteht ein dialogorientierter Raum für gemeinsame Diskussionen und Wissensaustausch.

 

Beim Barcamp 2026 soll das Thema Diamond Open Access im Mittelpunkt stehen: Diskutiert werden könnten z.B. Erfahrungen beim Aufbau nachhaltiger Infrastrukturen, Finanzierungs- und Organisationsmodelle sowie andere praktische Erfahrungen aus der Community – inklusive der Frage, was es braucht, um das Prädikat Diamond zu erhalten und welches Ziel mit Diamond Open Access verfolgt wird. Andere OA-Themen dürfen aber selbstverständlich auch gerne mitgebracht werden. Wie gewohnt gestalten die Teilnehmenden das Programm selbst und bringen eigene Themen und Sessions ein.

 

Die Konferenzsprache ist grundsätzlich Deutsch. Internationale Teilnehmende sind jedoch ausdrücklich willkommen, und dank des offenen Barcamp-Formats können bei Bedarf selbstverständlich auch Sessions auf Englisch stattfinden.

 

Das Barcamp wird im Rahmen des Projekts open-access.network gemeinsam von Mitarbeitenden des Kommunikations-, Informations-, Medienzentrums (KIM) der Universität Konstanz und der Zentralbibliothek des BIS-Bibliotheks und Informationssystem der Universität Oldenburg organisiert. Open-access.network ist ein BMFTR-gefördertes Verbundprojekt.

Save the date: Open Access exchange and networking event on April 29–30 at the BIS Library and Information System of Carl von Ossietzky University Oldenburg

 

Dear colleagues, dear Open Access enthusiasts,

 

The next Open Access Barcamp will take place on April 29–30, 2026, at the BIS of Carl von Ossietzky University Oldenburg.

Our Barcamps bring together members of the open access community to exchange ideas, network, and learn from each other. The Barcamp format thrives on openness and participation: instead of a predetermined program, participants design the content themselves, suggest topics, and lead sessions. This creates a dialogue-oriented space for joint discussions and knowledge exchange.

 

Barcamp 2026 will focus on the topic of Diamond Open Access: Discussions could include, for example, experiences in building sustainable infrastructures, financing and organizational models, and other practical experiences from the community – including the question of what it takes to obtain the Diamond designation and what the goal of Diamond Open Access is. Other OA topics are of course also welcome. As usual, participants will design the program themselves and contribute their own topics and sessions.

 

The conference language is generally German. However, international participants are expressly welcome, and thanks to the open Barcamp format, sessions can of course also be held in English if required.

 

The Barcamp is being organized as part of the open-access.network project by staff from the Communication, Information, and Media Center (KIM) at the University of Konstanz and the Central Library of the BIS Library and Information System at the University of Oldenburg. Open-access.network is a joint project funded by the BMFTR.

 

Participation in the Barcamp is free of charge. The exact schedule and registration form will be available at the end of February at https://open-access.network/vernetzen/barcamp.
