CROSSING COMPASSES links young photographers from Nigeria and Germany, promoting creative and cultural exchange through images.
Emerging photographers from Yaba College of Technology in Lagos, Nigeria, and Neue Schule für Fotografie Berlin were given the chance to travel to their partner's country to produce a photographic series.
The exchange itself already being an intrisicially culturally enriching process, the project explored the concept of "the other", questioning and observing pre-established social norms and artistic stereotypes.

This exhibition follows its counterpart, opened at the Goethe-Institut Nigeria on 3 November 2012 during the Lagos Photo Festival.
The results and experiences of the participants are summarized in a publication including interviews by Safia Dickersbach.
