The conference will cooperate with this year's BIGSAS Literature Festival. Both delve into the topic "Future Africa. Visions in Transition". >From Tuesday evening (2 June 2015) onwards, there will be such fantastic artists such as Wole Soyinka, Francois Vergés, Teju Olaniyan, Africa is the Future, Teju Cole, Noah Sow, Bernadine Evaristo, Ama Ata Aidoo and Binyawanga Wainina as well as Antony Joseph, Dobet Gnahoré, FOKN Bois und Aly Keita in town. They perform on Campus, Stadthalle or Altes Schloss/Old Castle. There will be academic lectures, some 300 panel papers, numerous panel discussions, spoken word, crime fiction, Sci-Fi, a film series, open air concerts, and exhibitions. Moreover, the Mensa will offer a week of "African-/Diasporic Cuisine". Please find attached a programme of the literature festival and an overview of the ALA conference.
