You're pretty out of luck when you don't have a real Mac. But anyway, it would be just nice if you could fix the bug the way Michael proposed. Unfortunately, I don't know any Python. I would fix it myself then :/. Or, maybe, I can create you an SSH account on one of the Macs at my uni, would that be helpful?
