[FUB-GEAS] [Reminder] GEAS Summer Symposium and Summer Party (July 5th)

Dear colleagues and friends of GEAS,

 

This is a short reminder for this year’s GEAS Summer Symposium, taking place on July 5^th (Friday). The symposium offers PhD students from our newest cohort an opportunity to present their “June Papers” to a wider audience and receive feedback, before they prepare for their fieldwork phase. After the presentations, the GEAS organises a small Graduation Ceremony in which our PhD candidates who graduated within the last year will receive their diplomas. In a following Alumni Roundtable, PhDs from all cohorts have a chance to enquire about career perspectives and pathways after graduating. To unwind from academic work and as a start of the summer break, we’ll celebrate our annual Summer Party in the garden afterwards.

 

It would be wonderful, if we could welcome as many as possible of you on that occasion. Please find attached the programme for the symposium.

 

When: Friday, July 5, 10:00 am – 3:30 pm (symposium), 3.30-4 pm (graduation ceremony/alumni roundtable), 5 pm – open end (party)

Where: TOPOI Lecture Hall, Hittorfstr. 18, 14195 Berlin

 

BBQ equipment as well as a basic stock of food and drinks will be provided, but we don’t mind your additional contributions. If you have any questions, please don’t hesitate to get in touch.
