We are excited to announce that the programme for the joint launch event of the
European Diamond Capacity Hub (EDCH) and the EU-funded ALMASI Project is now available, and the registration is officially open! At the event, the key features of the European Diamond Capacity Hub will be presented, along with a range of opportunities for active participation and collaboration.
The role of the ALMASI project in the global Diamond Open Access landscape and its component elements will be introduced. The launch of the
ALMASI Project will take place on 14th January 2025 from 2:00 PM to 7:00 PM (CET), and the launch of the
European Diamond Capacity Hub (EDCH) will take place on 15th January 2025 from
10:30 AM to 6:00 PM (CET) in Madrid, Spain, at the headquarters of FECYT at MUNCYT (Museo Nacional de Ciencia y Tecnología). The
European Diamond Capacity Hub (EDCH) aims to strengthen the Diamond OA community in Europe by supporting European institutional, national and disciplinary capacity centres and Diamond publishers and service providers in their mission of Diamond OA scholarly
publishing.
The ALMASI Project (Aligning and Mutualizing Nonprofit Open Access Publishing Services Internationally) seeks to develop a nonprofit, high-quality, and sustainable scholarly communication ecosystem
spanning three regions: Africa, Europe, and Latin America. Registration: Everyone who is interested in the topic and development around Diamond Open Access is invited to join the event. Only introductory parts of the event will be
live streamed via YouTube. You can either register for both days or only for the launch of the ALMASI project or the launch of the EDCH. The registration for the in-person event is open
until 12 December 2024. Please stay informed as we continue to update the programme with additional details of the speakers during the upcoming weeks. Don't miss this opportunity to be part of a key moment in the future of Diamond Open Access. We look forward to seeing you in Madrid! Viele Grüße Marlen Töpfer
