- Subject: [IP-OA_Forum] Save the Date OASPA 2026 Conference - September 21-23 2025, Zagreb
Dear Colleague
We are excited to share that this year, the OASPA Annual Conference will be held on Monday September 21 - Wednesday September 23 at the Hotel Dubrovnik, Zagreb in Croatia. Please save the date!
Last year we heard from delegates that they found the conference to be a useful, interesting and enjoyable event where they learned about the latest in open access and networked with many colleagues, both known and new.
Here are just a few of the comments we received when we asked delegates what they gained from attending:
It is refreshing to be at an event where you can go deeper than “should OA happen”—there are important issues to tackle. Let’s get going!
Opportunities to connect with global OA experts and learn from diverse institutional experiences.
Connections, action plans on how to improve our open access publishing, insights on the possible future of open access and how we should position ourselves.
Lots of new contacts, a clearer idea of the kind of open access future we want to see and how my organisation can contribute
New business contacts for exploring collaborative partnerships, time with friends and former colleagues, deeper industry knowledge and understanding of challenges we are all facing.
Connecting with fellow librarians working in this space, better understanding of OA/open research and key issues this area is facing, appreciated hearing from publishers, of all sizes and types.
Hearing different and often conflicting perspectives on OA/Open Science but nevertheless educational and useful; excellent networking opportunity due to a mid-sized conference.
I had the opportunity to catch up with a couple of people I had not seen for a long time, and make a few new contacts.
Save the date now for this year’s conference and do get in touch if you wish to hear about being a conference sponsor. We could not put on our conference without our generous sponsors.
Keep up to date with developments on the OASPA conference page.
Best wishes,
Bernie
