Liebe Kolleginnen und Kollegen,
wir laden Sie herzlich ein, an unserer Umfrage zum Thema Datentracking bis zum 20. Februar 2026 teilzunehmen.
Worum geht es?
Im Auftrag der Allianz Task Force „Datentracking und Digitale Nutzungsspuren" – einer Arbeitsgruppe der Allianz-Organisationen – möchten wir gemeinsam mit Ihnen erkunden, welche Bedeutung das Thema Datentracking in den Verhandlungen von Verlagslizenzen hat.
Datentracking durch Verlage gewinnt in der bibliothekarischen Praxis zunehmend an Bedeutung. Mit dieser Befragung möchten wir herausfinden, wo die einzelnen Einrichtungen aktuell stehen und wie wir Sie am besten unterstützen können. Auf dieser Grundlage entwickeln wir Materialien, die Ihnen in Lizenzverhandlungen helfen.
Für wen ist die Befragung gedacht?
Wir richten uns vor allem an Kolleginnen und Kollegen, die mit Lizenzthemen befasst sind – aber die Befragung steht auch all jenen offen,  die sich generell für Datentracking in Bibliotheken interessieren.
Was erwartet Sie?
Die Befragung umfasst offene Fragen zu Ihren Erfahrungen, konkreten Maßnahmen und Einschätzungen. Die Bearbeitung dauert etwa 10 Minuten. Wenn Sie darüber hinaus einzelne Fragen ausführlicher beantworten oder ergänzende Materialien (z. B. Vertragspassagen, Praxisbeispiele) beisteuern möchten, könnte sie  etwas mehr Zeit in Anspruch nehmen.
Wichtig: Die Befragung ist vollständig anonym. Auf Wunsch haben Sie jedoch jederzeit die Möglichkeit, direkt mit uns in den Austausch zu treten.
Warum ist Ihre Teilnahme wichtig?
Ihre Einschätzungen helfen uns zu verstehen, welche Herausforderungen Sie im Umgang mit Datentracking erleben und welche Unterstützung Sie benötigen. Die Ergebnisse fließen in gemeinsame Strategien ein, die Bibliotheken in ihren Verhandlungen stärken. Die Arbeitsgruppe wird die Erkenntnisse Mitte 2026 veröffentlichen.

Dear colleagues,
We cordially invite you to participate in our survey on data tracking by 20 February 2026.
On behalf of the German Alliance Task Force “Data Tracking and Digital Usage Traces”—a working group of the German Alliance organisations—we would like to explore together with you the role that data tracking plays in negotiations of publisher licences.
Data tracking by publishers is becoming increasingly relevant in library practice. With this survey, we aim to identify where individual institutions currently stand and how we can best support you. On this basis, we will develop materials designed to assist you in licence negotiations.
Who is the survey intended for?
The survey is primarily aimed at colleagues involved in licensing matters, but it is also open to anyone with a general interest in data tracking in libraries.
What can you expect?
The survey consists of open questions about your experiences, concrete measures, and assessments. Completing it will take approximately 10 minutes. If you choose to respond to individual questions in greater detail or contribute additional materials (e.g. contract clauses, practical examples), it may take a little longer.
Important: The survey is completely anonymous. Leaving your email address is optional and will only be used to keep you informed..
Why is your participation important?
Your input helps us understand the challenges you face in dealing with data tracking and the kind of support you need. The results will feed into joint strategies aimed at strengthening libraries in their negotiations. The working group plans to publish the findings in mid-2026.
