Beyond the Ivory Tower: The Real-World Importance of Open Access Today
 
OA advocates proclaim the importance of scholarly information as a public good. Access to knowledge has been codified in the UN Declaration of Human Rights (Article 19). But what is actually happening on the ground? Does it matter that we make scholarly research open - including to those beyond academia? 

In these unpredictable times, four US based speakers will be exploring this topic and taking audience questions: Ameet Doshi (Princeton), Beth Daley (Executive Editor of The Conversation, US); Joy Connelly (ACLS President) and Lacey LaGrone MD (trauma surgeon, UCHealth Colorado)
