Dear students, faculty, and friends of the JFKI,

 

You are cordially invited to join us for the first workshop of the new research project series “Between Empire and Exile: African American Thought and the German Colonial Imagination”. We will be delving into questions of how African American intellectual engagements in Germany informed and influenced new interpretations of empire, race, and colonialism – and how they continue to inspire debates surrounding racism and memory politics to this day.

 

The workshop will be a hybrid event held in room 305 at the John-F.-Kennedy Institute (Lansstraße 7-9) from 9 a.m. - 4 p.m on April 22-24.
