While I currently have no idea what could be the origin of this error,
I think we should perform a test with the SHARP NetMD that we own in
the project. I remember Michael mentioning that some NetMD are more or
less strict than others when it comes to timeouts etc.

This correspondends to the code in the git repository as of
2012-04-08.
