Hi-MD is unable to store ATRAC SP encoded tracks at all. Every NetMD capable recorder (with or without Hi-MD ability) is able to receive raw PCM over USB and encode it on-the-fly to SP and write it to a NetMD formatted medium. Regards, Michael Karcher
